The Wood That Just May Change the Building Industry

If you’re a contractor or builder… you may want to pay attention.

Tired of offering the same flooring every other swinging hammer sells—while homeowners price-shop you online and margins keep shrinking?

Imagine a 11" wide premium solid hardwood floor that runs from your customer’s shower (yes, the shower), straight through the main living areas, and right out to decks and docks.

Now imagine discovering it’s a $1.4 billion market in the U.S., with a 35+ year proven track record in Europe—yet nearly 80% of builders have never heard of it.

See where this is going?

Thermawood-USA is flipping the script in the building material world with our 10" wide plank Red & White Oak flooring, along with our highly sought after 11" wide Antique Heart Pine flooring with 16' lengths.

Now we aren’t saying we invented this. Fact is, Europe has been using this wood for over 35 years.

In fact, the Vikings created the original concept centuries ago by heating wood and cooling it in sand. They used it to harden ship planks and quickly realized the wood also stopped absorbing water like typical lumber.

Some of those ships are still being pulled from riverbeds today intact.

Today, Thermawood-USA heats wood to roughly 380 degrees in specialized oxygen-free kilns, then slowly cools it back down using steam.

This permanently changes the wood from the inside out by collapsing the cellular structure and cooking out the organic materials that normally cause movement and moisture problems.

Simply put:

No organic material = No cupping, No warping & No gapping.

That changes everything.

Suddenly real solid hardwood can go into places traditional hardwood was never supposed to work.

Concrete slabs.
Radiant heat systems.
Bathrooms.
Showers.
Decks.
Docks.
Exterior siding.

For decades the industry told us plastic was the future.

LVP flooring.
Composite decking.
PVC siding.

But homeowners still want something real.

To be honest, plastic has had its run. More and more homeowners have been there, done that — and the truth is, there’s very little value left in fake wood and plastic-looking products.

Builders want products that separate them from every other contractor in town.

And customers are getting tired of plastics & who knows what pretending to be hardwood.

Because being first isn’t risky — being last is.
